my ipod keeps resetting itself

I connected my ipod classic to my laptop and then disconnected it. Moments later, my ipod was stuck on diskmode and my ipod said it was OK to disconnect. I decided to reset my ipod by holding down the menu and select buttons. After, the apple logo appeared, but the ipod will continue to keep reseting itself without going to the main menu screen. What exactly should I do now? When I connect it back onto my laptop, it goes back to disk mode, but then I get a sign that says that the "disk you inserted was not readable by this computer" ... so I eject it, but then it just goes back to the reseting apple. Does this make any sense?

Howdy ashleypinz,

I would recommend restoring your iPod in order to get it back up and running again.

'Disk cannot be read from or written to'...

Damaged disk structure

These errors can also appear if the format of your computer's hard drive or your iPod disk is damaged.

To repair an iPod diskRestore the iPod or iPod shuffle using the latest version of iTunes.

Warning: Be sure to back up your data before restoring an iPod. The restore process cannot be undone. All of your songs and files will be delete
