Everytime i try to copy and paste photos from my iPhoto library to my desktop, it doesn't shoy an option to paste. When I select the photos to copy, I click copy, but when I try to paste them on my desktop, the 'paste' option doesn't even show up. It's as if I never copied anything. Anyone else have this issue? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Pasting to the Desktop works for me - iPhoto 9.4.3. - what is your iPhoto version?
When you try to paste - and do not see the "Paste" option - have you made sure that the Finder is the frontmost application?
But anyway, simpler than "copy & paste" would be to select the times you want to export to the Desktop and to drag them from iPhoto's Browser to an empty space on the Desktop.

That works, but it still doesn't answer my question. Why doesn't it let me paste the pictures?
Because what you copy in iPhoto are tokens that represent the actual file, and the Finder doesn't recognise those tokens.
Ok. But why would it all of a sudden just stop working. iPhoto used to let me copy and paste pictures to my desktop and now it doesn't.
P.S. sorry i haven't replied, I kind of forgot about this.
Have you repaired disk permissions and rebooted lately?
