Syncing purchased music

I have just updated my version of iTunes and although my purchased songs bought via my iPad are in my music library, I cannot transfer them to my iPod when I sync. What am I doing wrong?

iPod classic (120 GB)

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. It could be potentially that you may not have actually downloaded those songs to your iTunes library. This article will walk you through getting those songs into iTunes.
