Ubuntu USB Bootable flash drive on Mac OS X Mountain Lion?

I am trying to make a USB bootable Linux drive, ubuntu version, bootable from Mac OS X Mountain Lion on a 2012 Macbook Pro. Unfortunatly I am unfamiliar with terminal.

I was unable to find any step by step guides, and information on this subject seemed dated and limited in general. Any information for myself and the community is appreciated.
