May 16, 2013 2:35 AM in response to Eric Rossby MikeJP51,Hi Eric. Thanks for suggestion, but I have tried to restore and this does not solve the problem. I am tempted to think it is an internal charging circuit problem.

To me, that sounds like a definite problem with your iPad. Probably the charging circuit. I often let my iPad charge overnight and have not experienced the kind of problem you described. In fact, the charging circuitry in the iPad should automatically reduce the charging current to a mere trickle when it nears a full charge. It sounds as though yours is not doing that. It would be wise for you to have it looked at by a technician at the nearest Apple store.

May 16, 2013 4:57 AM in response to wuzradiomanby MikeJP51,Hi. Thanks for your own thoughts - very much in line with my own. I will persevere for while and note any further symptoms, looking for cause and effect. Ultimately I am expecting to visit the local Apple store. My Diagnostics & Usage listing is long and with lots of data saying .panic.plist etc.? I would be interested in knowing if other users have experienced this problem - please leave a message. Thanks.

Apr 3, 2016 7:56 PM in response to MikeJP51by FouadHajji,Did you ever find a solution to this ?
Having the EXACT same phenomenon.
Restore keeps failing at the very end (verifying ipad restore, bar at 95%, then shuts off) with either error 9 or just "there is a problem with the ipad.."
After 20 restore attemps, I was able to boot it using Fonepaw. The ipad was restored to 9.3.1.
However the same issue persists. Shuts down and locks after full charge. Will turn back on after hours. After the first charging session after the restore, booting becomes unstable (goes into bootloop, for 2-3 minutes, until it finally boots).
Let me know what you ended up doing. Thx
