Q: Can I undo the OS update so that I can install 32-bit Windows 7?

Hi there,

I just updated my OS to 10.8.3. I have a Macbook Pro (mid 2012)

I originally wanted to install Windows 7 via Boot Camp.

In the recent 10.8.3 update, there is an update for Boot Camp (Boot Camp 5)

However, after I updated the OS update, I found out that Boot Camp 5 only supports 64-bit Windows 7. I have the 32-bit version.

So now I'm stuck.

Can someone please help me and tell me how to undo the software update?

You can use BootCamp 5 to install Windows 7 32-bit, it just states that with BootCamp 5 it now supports Windows 7 64-bit, take a look at this link, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5639

It states (further down the page):

Are 32-bit versions of Windows 7 and 8 supported?
No. Boot Camp 5 supports 64-bit versions of Windows 7 and 8 only.

do a backup if you have data in the 32bit version
remote the partition and reinstall the 64bit version which have driver support
you can't update a 32bit windows version to a 64bit one windows does not support that
