Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you are wanting to backup your computer to two separate external hard drives. This is an added feature of Mountain Lion (Mac OS X 10.8):
OS X Mountain Lion: Use multiple backup disks
For extra security and convenience, you can back up to multiple disks. If you work in two locations, you may want to keep backup disks in both places.
Time Machine rotates the backup schedule among the disks. For each backup disk, Time Machine backs up everything that’s changed since the last time that backup disk was used. If you’ve clicked Options in Time Machine preferences and designated items that should not be backed up, the list of excluded items applies to all backup disks.
If you’re using multiple backup disks and you choose Enter Time Machine from the Time Machine menu, you see the timeline from the disk most recently used for backing up. To see the timeline from another disk, press the Option key and choose Browse Other Backup Disks from the Time Machine menu in the menu bar.

I hope this helps!
