Q: When waking my MBP from sleep by opening the cover after a couple of hours, I get a greyed out screen, with a progress bar at the bottom, and the Mac is unresponsive. It usually takes close to a minute before the screen load, and I can log in
This seems to happen after the mac has been asleep for a while, but it is not consistent. The progression is: Open the cover - greyed out screen, no response to any input attempt. Below the login screen, a progress segment appears, which will go to about 95%, pause for several seconds, then complete. After that, the screen loads, but still is unresponsive. I hear the CD drive click, then slowly parts of the screen, such as the login window seem to load further. Still no response from the touchpad. A few seconds later, the cursor begins to blink in the login window, and one to two seconds after that, the touchpad "wakes" and I can enter my password. Everything fine after that.
MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3), Non-retina MBP, 16 GB memory.
