I am having trouble getting the Bluetooth audio to work on my VW Tiguan even though the Bluetooth audio is selected. The manual seems to indicate that the iPhone has to be hooked up to the 30-pin cable but that would seem to defeat the purpose. Any ideas?

Yes, it does. And the iPhone4 definitely has that as well? Because that's what the VW manual says is required.
normally one have to place the a2dp device in pairing / discoery mode before it can be found by the iphone at least thats how I paried mine
OK. how would i do that? sorry, i'm not very computer savy.

ps - or would that be something the auto service department would have to do?
as stated don't know the first thing about how it's don in cars or your car
but my nokia a2dp stereo headset I hold down 2 buttons and it goes to pairing mode where it blinks a lot
so I would think it a bit troublesome if it had to be don by a mechanic when it came to cars
OK. i just bought the car and everything is on warranty so it shouldn't cost me anything. i'll talk to my car dealer.
