Can I use a Windows 7 Operating Software DIsc that was distributed with the purchase of another PC such as an HP Desktop to install Windows 7 on my Mac Book Pro (2011-12) with Boot Camp?

You can't use the disc that came with another computer. That's because it's designed to be used only with the PC that it came with, and it may include a special version for that PC that may not work in the MacBook Pro.

Branded versions of Windows that are distributed with HP, Dell, etc. computers will not work for you. These versions only contain the drivers and components necessary for the computer they came with.
