Hi,

This should get put in Hard Drive /Library/Printers in a Folder by Manufacturers name and then type such as Inkjet and so on.

It may also get put in a Sub folder called PDDs if it is a driver of this type.

Humm,

I list a Canon and Epsom folders plus a PDDs folder

I addition I list two .plist about Installed Printers and an Icons folder which is empty.

In System/Library/Printers I list two folders

Libraries and PDDs.

This PDDs folder contains drivers for LaserWriters

The Libraries seems to be to do with generic USB stuff.

In theory you can install something for one User Only by placing it in Users/(your acocunt)/Library/Printers

I seemed to have installed a Epsom Stylus CX6400 driver in here.

For me that would need investigating as I don't need a User Only driver and I also don't remember Installing it.

The Driver involved also seems to be in the first pic.

HI,

If those are the drivers for the item you want to delete mentioned in the Question post.

If you meant that in System Preferences > Print and Scan you wanted to remove a Printer then highlight and press the minus button.

Hi Ralph,

Came across you advice several times on Apple support. Wonder if you can help me. I have a MacBook Pro. Recently upgraded to Mavericks 10.9 and also bought an HP Officejet Pro8600. Installed the driver software from HP and things sort of worked for awhile. Now nothing works.

Looked through some threads and found a way to delete the printer driver (through Mac HD-Applications - HP-HP Uninstaller. However this just gave me the circle of death and never completely uninstalled. I force quit and tried again, but this time when I got to the uninstall when I clicked on it - it said it was not available???

I just want to get all the printer driver info off the computer and start again from scratch - any suggestions?

Thanks,

HI,

As this thread says at the top the files needed should be in hard Drive (name)/Library/Printers,

Mine has a Canon folder and an Epsom one along with one labled icons (empty) and PDDs plus an "Installed Printers .plist item.

Using the reveal triangles shows you the contents.

The Canons get divided into BubbleJet (bj items and InkJet (ij) ones.

I have also opened up the BJPrinter item further to show it's contents.

Basically you should have an HP folder.

This may contain several Printer Drivers or just the one for the model you have.

You will also find that there is a Hard Drive Name/System/Library/Printers folder.

However although these are the basic items for installing Printers the basic Drivers should not get put here.

I am not sure how you get new Drivers now as it is a long time since I did it.

I believe the Add Printer process in System Preferences > Printers and Scanners will invoke th App Store in effect.
