After being in my pocket all day, my iPhone was at 1% charge! I plugged it in and it does not seem to be charging at all. Help!

After being in my pocket all day while I was outside planting, my iPhone was at 1% charge. I don't believe it could have gone that low and wonder if the heat had an effect on it. After plugging it in to charge, I noticed it was not getting better. After a couple of hours now, it is just the small red mark with a lightning bolt but I'm not able to turn it on at all. Any suggestions on next steps?

Hello Jilly,

It is impossible to use your iPhone if it is not charging, so I definitely understand your concern. I found an article that addresses charging issues on the iPhone:

iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting

http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802

For the issue your iPhone is having, I would follow the steps under "Battery does not charge from the USB power adapter" and continue with "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" if it's still not working.

I hope this helps, and happy gardening!

Best,

Sheila M.
