Filevault: Flash Storage Firmware Update 1.0 won't install

I also have Filevault enabled, but I don't think that this causes the problem - the Firmware can't be installed on the drive itself (as it is required to access it).

The only thing probably related to the update I found in the log files are these two lines:

Also having a problem installing this update.

I disabled Filevault and the update still fails to apply. SMC and Boot ROM versions have not updated to Revision TPVABBF0 as described in http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1655

I don't have a MacBook Air so I didn't get this update but in the past when I've had issues with Firmware updates, if I do an SMC reset and try to run the update again it tends to work.

Same here, i have tried an SMC reset but i dosen't work.

Even from the .pkg package fails.

Also download .pkg and fail (did it before reading the discussion board)

After i did an PRAM Reset an decrypted my Filevault, the update work flawlessly.

Having the same problem. Looking for confirmation that son1c's suggestion works; has anyone else succeeded?

I was successful (confirmed firmware revision) after: PRAM reset, disabling FileVault, and two attempts at the update. It might just be that a reboot is needed after disabling FileVault and before doing the update. Not sure what order/combination was important.

I was successful. I did NOT do the PRAM reset. I only decypt the filevault. Reboot. Install the update. Reboot. The computer shut down after the reboot. Wait at least 1 mins. Success. No more update.

I have tried all the above mentioned procedures and none have worked. Strange thing is after I decrypted FileVault2, the Get Info still shows encrypted but it doesn't act like it is encrypted. I will try to encrypt and see what happens. ....... nice, tried to encrypt and sys says it is already encrypted. Something is totally screwed up.

.... ok, so I restored from a Time Machine backup and that fixed the isuue with the system being confused whether the drive was encrypted or not. It then appeared to not be encrypted, so I tried the update and it seemed to have worked..... the SMC Version is showing 2.5f7, is that correct ?
