no "Use audio for:" option
This is weird, when i go to system prefs -> audio ->input, there simply isn't an option "Use audio for:". this would be exactly what i need, but it isn't there, any help?

Also it appears that depending on when your MBP was built it may not support audio in.

2012 models and later don't have audio in. You would need to use a USB interface.
