I recently changed my apple id. It works finefor new purchaces but notforupdates of apps acquired under old id. My password for the old id doesnt work and when I request anew password I don't recieve an email
if you change appleID all apps downloaded or bought under the old one will stop working
it's ownership of media and apps is pretty much the whole purpos of the appleID
no apps are tied to the device but only to the appleID
Updates to apps can only be made using the ID you used to purchase the apps. You shouldn't change your ID.
Changing your ID can be subjected to a 90 day lockout http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627
