an error occurred while preparing your information to transfer

Everytime I use the migration assitant I always get error occured and I have an ethernet cable connecting the 2 computers. 1 computer is a windows 7 system and the other is a mac OSX 10.8.3 so how do I transfer my files?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3), continous error

Do you have file sharing turned on on the Windows machine? I'd also recommend using Pondini's Migration Assitant link. You can find it at:
