ical doesn't recognize my contact information

When I create an event in iCal and select "Add Invitees…" none of my personal emails are listed! So I made sure that my vcard is seleted as "Make this my Card", which it is. I read many online forums and they said to make sure your card is selected as "Make this my Card" and my address still do not show. I haven't a clue why this suddenly has happened. I first deleted my contact information and recreated another card and that did not work. So any information would be appreciated. I am using a Mac Pro running OS Lion.
