Aperture 2 needs to access Aperture 3 project

Is there any way I can access an Aperture 3 Project without updating from Aperture 2 and having to update my entire library?

As there is a book in the Aperture 3 project that I need to edit before ordering

MacBook (13-inch Early 2008), Mac OS X (10.7.5)

No way.

You need Aperture 3 to access books in an Aperture 3 library. You could access single image files in an Aperture 3 library using the Finder, but products like books require Aperture 3 to open them.

Orher Aperture 3 items, like projects and albums could be opened with iPhoto 9.3, if the Aperture library is version 3.3 or later, but Aperture books cannot be opened using iPhoto.
