VGA or SVGA ?

im on an old macbook (2.1) and im looking for a vga cable to mirror on external screen with my mini dvi to vga adaptatro...but do i need a vga wire or a svga wire ? i know svga is better resolution but is it the same physical pin ?

please give m your adices ty.

The pin configuration is the same the diference is in the resolution supported by the cable, for most applications VGA is fine. I still have a 2006 MBP and have used a VGA (as opposed to SVGA) and it has worked fine. Also costs less.
