Can't print through Airport Extreme.

New MacBook pro. prints thru USB. Set up and shows up fine. Queue says "printing-printer connected". It just hangs up and never prints. no printer in airport utility menu.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)

Did you also "install" the printer again, once it was connected to the USB port on the AirPort Extreme?


In other words, if you open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock), then open Print & Scan, your printer should appear twice there....since you have it "installed" in two locations.....one at the Mac, and the other at the AirPort Extreme.

Sometimes, the last step......reset printing system.....will work miracles when nothing else seems to work. Finally, there are some printers that just won't work with the AirPorts due to firmware and operating system changes in new products. You will know soon.
