So...will a 65W made for a 20" power the 23" enough to make the light blink? The apple info is sort of vague, and simply says 'no'.

Long story short, I have a 23" aluminum cinema display, but only have a 65W adapter made for a 20" (it calls for 90W). When I plug it into my 23", it doesn't even blink and I want to be sure the display isn't fried before I invest $100+ into a new adapter. Anybody know?...

Hi erkelbot,

If the apple info is "no", it is "no" for a reason. 65W or 90W is quite a difference.

If it would even work, then it would get really hot, because this size of transfo was not designed to deliver 90W of power.

If you order an adapter from the apple store, you have a 14 day return policy. You can return it without having to explain for what reason.

Thanks for the reply. I completely understand the wattage difference being significant, but I was more asking as to whether or not the mismatching power converter would even make the light on the display blink. I guess I would rather not spend $100+ on a power adapter (the correct one) unless the display is functioning. Make sense? Though, you do make a good point about returning it if the display is broken and I buy the 90W through Apple...
