iTunes 11.0.3. randomly crashing

Installed iTunes 11.0.3 on a MBP with Snow Leopard yesterday.

Today it keeps randomly crashing. Even if its minimized in the tray.

Thoughts?

I have the exact same problem. I keep iTunes minimized, doing all kind of other stuff such as surfing the internet. All of sudden the fans speed up and the Activity Monitor shows me that iTunes is not responsive and is using 100% of the CPU. I re-installed iTunes 11.0.3 but it didn't help. What's going on there Apple?

This might be a solution:

1. Quit iTunes.

2. Go to /Library/Preferences and move com.apple.iTunes.plist to trash.

3. If your problem is solved, empty trash. If not, restore the file.

You will have to log in again in iTunes (iTunes store account) and reactivate iTunes Match.

There might be a solution, however, the onus is on Apple to come up w/ (another update?) or whatever that fixes the problem, is it not?

This thread is saying to me, "Michael, don't pull the trigger & do another problematic update."

I am hoping to see some Mac aficionados (the one's with lots of points & experience) to restore our faith in the mothership.

I gave up and after watching iTunes sit idle for hours only to crash within minutes of playing internet radio I reverted (via Time Machine) to the previous version then told it to open the most recent library (Hold option when iTunes launches).

I can deal without the new mini-play but I can't deal with the app just not working.

Tried this also. iMac early 2011. Even after deleting the file iTunes still hogs 104% of CPU in activity monitor. Another symptom is that ALL of my playlists are duplicated like 80 times each. (Maybe more if i could look at iTunes on any device, iphone or imac, without it crashing)

So...I think the crashing caused my playlist replication, or vice versa and it is now a vicious cycle.

Any others find a better answer?
