battery switch problem

hello, i am having a problem with my 4th generation ipod touch, but nobody else seems to have this problem. my ipod will start charging for a split second, quit, then start, then quit, and do that ver and over again. on my alarm clock dock, i really have to fool with it to get it to stay charging. on the cord i have to hold the cord at a different angle all the time in order for it to charge. i have gotten a new alarm clock and it does the same thing so it is my ipod.can anybody help me??

- Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.

- Try another charging source

- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
