battery switch problem

hello, i am having a problem with my 4th generation ipod touch, but nobody else seems to have this problem. my ipod will start charging for a split second, quit, then start, then quit, and do that ver and over again. on my alarm clock dock, i really have to fool with it to get it to stay charging. on the cord i have to hold the cord at a different angle all the time in order for it to charge. i have gotten a new alarm clock and it does the same thing so it is my ipod.can anybody help me??

i know it sounds weird and its hard to describe but it will charge fine and hold it once you get it to sit right but you have to wiggle it or hold it a certain way to get it to charge. i need the answer tonight if possible at all.
