Change your router channel number. Most times this works & is all you have to do.
Disconnect & reconnect your modem. unplug it for about 10 seconds. Plug it back in. Do the same for Apple’s routers. Wait for everything to reboot.
System Preferences>Network
Click the Assist Me button.
In the next window that pops up, click the Diagnostic button & do the necessary.

Manually provided DNS server addresses are higher priority than DHCP's

Also, run the Airport Utility app which is located inside the Utilities folder.

I got home this morning and was ready to start working down your list and wouldn't you know it, no internet problems at all on the iMac. I am changing the router channel as soon as I am able to download some software that will tell me what channels the connections near to me are on.
I have repeatedly tried updating the iMac and keep recieving an error. 1004 or something like that. I am not with the computer now so I can't check but that is another problem I need to address.
