I just set up my iPad with iCloud. When I touch the mail icon it has me set up my account, then it tells me this account is already set up on this iPad. However it won't let me access it. It is a continuous circuit of me hitting "mail" but mail not openi.

I just received my new iPad, set it up with iCloud, and went to open my mail. It asked me to register my account. When I did it said this account was already set up on my iPad. Cool. Then I hit the mail icon and it repeats its request for me to set up again. It again tells me a am already set up. However I cannot access my mail. I am trapped in this circuit. Does anyone know what I can do? I have a Mac.com email account that opens when I touch the mail icon on my iPhone but not on my iPad. ??????

Hey Garlicdaisy,

That definitely sounds frustrating. Have you tried turning on the Mail function in Settings > iCloud? If it is currently on, try toggling this off and back on.

Otherwise, you may want to remove the account from your iPad and set it up again via Settings > iCloud or Settings > Mail, Contacts & Calendars.

Thanks,

Hi Matt

Thank you so much for replying to my question. You were totally right! I had no idea that I had to turn my mail on in Settings. My mail is now working perfectly and I feel like a big dummy. I am a pretty easy going person; however, computers can make my head pop off.

I have one more question I would like to ask you. The music from my iPhone 4S did not transfer onto my iPad. I have been trying to figure it out (googling it and in Settings ). No luck. Do you know how to achieve this?

Thanks again for your previous help

Hey Garlicdaisy,

Thank you for the follow up.

With iCloud, you can have iTunes automatically download new music purchases to all your devices the moment you tap Buy. You can also access past music, movie, and TV show purchases from any of your devices — wirelessly and without syncing.

For more information, see the following:

Apple - iCloud - All your music on all your devices.

To download past purchases on your devices, follow these steps:

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

If you want the benefits of iTunes in the Cloud for music you haven’t purchased from iTunes, iTunes Match is the perfect solution:

Apple - iTunes - Match

Thanks,

Matt M.
