10.6.8 has no further updates. Do you want to upgrade to a newer OS (Lion or Mountain Lion)?

Ahh, I need to go from 10.5.8 to 10.6.8.

To upgrade from 10.5.x to 10.6.8, you need to purchase Snow Leopard on disk:

http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard

Install that, then run Software Update and install all available updates to bring it up to 10.6.8.

By the way, you posted this in the forum for Mac OS X 10.8. I'll ask the hosts to move it to a more appropriate forum.

Because you have 10.5.8 (I think, you mention both 10.6.8 and 10.5.8)

Assuming that you actually are using 10.5.8 (Leopard) you need to upgrade (paid) to 10.6.8 Snow Leopard (only available on disk from Apple) then if you choose (and if your Mac meets the hardware requirements) onward to 10.7 or 10.8. (available from the App Store, online)
