Which type of reset do you mean ? A soft-reset doesn't delete anything, it's basically a reboot : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear.
A hard-reset will put the iPad back to factory defaults i.e. with no content : Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings
