How do I connect Mac Mini to old version iMac Display ?

How do I connect a new Mac Mini to an old version iMac Display ? I think the Mini Display plug needs to be adapted to Thuderbolt port. Please clarify.

You need a Mini DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort cable, which will fit into a Thunderbolt port without any adapters.

First off, the iMac must be a late 2009 model or newer

in order to use it in target display mode. If this is the

case, then if it is a non-Thunderbolt version, you would

simply need a MiniDisplay Port->Mini Display Port cable.

If the iMac has a Thunderbolt port, it can only connect to

another Thunderbolt equipped Mac and will need a Thunderbolt

cable. This is the only way it will work.

If the iMac is an early 2009 or older, the only way it will work

is via screen sharing over a network or some other VNC type

package. These models do not support Target Display mode.

Actually this is a LED Cinema Display. I believe it is Model # A1267. Ther is a power cord and 3 "collected" cables-a laptop magnetic power connector, a mini display port connector and a USB connector. I have been using this as a display for a MacBook Pro and now want to use it with a new Mac Mini. If I connect the Mini Display Port to the Thuderbolt input and the USB to a USB input on th Mac Mini, will it work?
