I have an 30gb iPod Classic. It was working fine, then all of the sudden no sound comes from the audio jack or when docked. The song looks like it is playing, as the time counter is advancing. What could be the issue?

Your iPod will require a replacement logic board. A chip necessary for audio production has gone faulty and since it's integrated to your mainboard, it will require replacement. Oftentimes you can squeeze hard along the bottom front edges of the device and failtly get partial sound. This is another key sign of this damage.
