Since 2005 I have been keeping important data on iCal. To my horror I found that when Lion and iCloud came in all my previous data disappeared. Lucky for me, I found that the data still lived on my early MacBook Pro which still was still running Snow Leopard and thus had not been sucked into iCloud.

Now I have located the data, how can I migrate the file onto my iMac running Mtn Lion and integrate to the iCal program interacting with iCloud?

I am really pretty chagrinned that Apple would do such a thing because I don't think that I am the only one who keeps important historical data (like medical dates: MRI, Colonoscopy, vaccinations and the like) or vacation dates, flights and lots of other data which does not exist elsewhere.

How do I locate the iCal data file on the MBPro and how can I import it into the present file which is running under iCloud so I can sync my iPhone, iPad & iPod touch.?

Also, what steps can I take to insure that data will be preserved going forward?

Thanks to the group,

John Freitag
