I have one HDMI port on my tv and I purchased a product that now gives me 2 HDMI ports, one of which my blu ray player is plugged into. I plugged my Apple tv into the other one, but when I select that port, nothing comes up on the tv screen. I must be missing a step - any suggestions? Thanks!
I assume the BLU Ray player works fine, did you try switching the Apple TV to that port? Is the light glowing on the ATV to indicate its on? If possible try on another Tv

I switched the ports, and now they both work! Thanks so much for the suggestion. I'm not sure why it worked, but it really doesn't matter!
