ViewSonic's 20.1" VX2025wm - any comments or reviews?

The VX series looks great. I was reading up on those this week. Quiet a lot of bang for the buck. I've always been a fan of Viewsonic's monitors. I was handled very well by their customer service dept. once.

I'm opting for the Apple display though. The firewire ports along with the usb ports sealed it. And it's got a much higher resolution.

I did not buy this exact model, but was unhappy with two other displays I bought (a different ViewSonic and a Gateway). My beef was that I could not get them to color calibrate easily and match my MBP's display's characteristics. This is really annoying when editing photos in Aperture and Photoshop because the color and quality is not consistent between displays and comes out different when you print.

I ended-up returning the others and dropping a little extra money on the 20" Cinema Display. I am MUCH happier!

Personally, I've got my eyes on a SAMSUNG 204B. It's higher resolution (1600x1200), faster (5ms), and going cheap - $389 at Newegg. DVI and Analog inputs.

I'm a Logic User, and having just replaced my GRX (16" 1600x1200 resolution) laptop with the MBP, the lack of screen real estate is killin me.

I just bought an acer 20 inch widescreen for 350 CAN.
it doesn't have DVI but it still looks pretty good, for that price what more do you want.

I bought this monitor at Fry's last week and wasn't happy at all with it. Despite the great reviews, I couldn't get used to the fact that there is a strange grid-like (very tiny, almost like added noise) quality to the actual display. After my what-the-heck moment, I searched and found a couple of other users who were complaining also.

Anyway, I took the monitor back and went back to my 19" Dell UltraSharp. I'm still in the market for a widescreen monitor and will probably eventually jump on the next Dell sale for their 20" model (the banding issue should be fixed by that time).

Hi, I'm having the same problem with the VX2025wm - the image looks all grainy, it's like it's recognizing 'thousands' of collors instead of millions. The tech support at Viewsonic is lousy. Basically they have no drivers for OS 10.x so they tell you to install color profiles for the monitor that adjust the color a bit but don't solve the problem.

I also tried restarting the PRAM but that didn't work either.

Any ideas??
