Q: My ipod 4g wont update at all

On all my friends iPods in the general settings, it let's them have a system update, that is not on my iPod. Also when I sync my iPod into the computer no matter what I do, there is no option for a system update. So is my iPod broken or something? I would really like to know because I can't download or update anything because it all requires iOS 5 which I can't get.

First of all, your ipod needs to be connected to the Internet through wifi to check for a system update.

When you connect your ipod to the computer, in order to update your phone, the computer has to be connected to the internet also..

This is all it requires to update your ipod.. If it still doesnt work, you should probably contact apple service community..

Settings>General>Software Update is only available in IOS 5 and above.

If you are using IOS 4, you need to connect to iTune (computer) to update software.
