After losing my Downloads folder by accidentally deleting it from the Dock and then accidentally deleting it from my Finder folder, I was able to retrieve a Download folder from my home drive, but now it sits on my Desktop and won't be put into my dock. Any help would be appreciated.

By default, the Downloads folder should reside in your User folder. You should be able to drag this file to the Dock (right side of the seperator line) to add it back. You may find the following article useful:

Open the finder . Under the favorite list. Right Click on the Download Folder Add to Doc option will be there

I had to add the "Downloads" folder (by dragging and dropping) to "Favorites" first and then I was able to add it to the dock by right clicking on it. Thanks!

LOL don't I feel a little stupid. It was kind of one of those "duh" moments.
How do I move Downloads folder back into Dock?
