May 20, 2013 6:57 AM in response to Skyfall...by pvonk,You can use a computer's browser and log into icloud.com. Then go to the email page. If emails are gone, then they really are gone. It still there, but they don't appear on a device or computer, you can delete the account in the mail settings and set it up again.
On a device you might try... Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank power On again in the normal way.] It is absolutely/appsolutely safe!

May 20, 2013 7:05 AM in response to pvonkby Skyfall...,I tried what you recommended imamediately after I identified the problem! But I found nothing, which made me even more concerned about what could have casued such total wipe out! I will probably not be using iCloud any further, I lost all me email history and I was expecting that at lest Apple has a some sort of backup system to recover them.

May 20, 2013 8:27 AM in response to Skyfall...by pvonk,Try the backup of your computer - if you have been using a computer to sync with icloud email. Hmm.. your sig indicates you use OSX 10.6.8, if so, then you wouldn't have a time machine backup of the lost emails, as you need 10.7.2 or higher to access icloud. But if your sig is outdated and you do have a time machine backup that include icloud emails, that's another thing you might try.
