Hi,

Since updating to iTunes 11.0.3 via the Mac App Store recently, it has been crashing on an almost daily basis. I leave it open in the background all the time but I will often return to the computer after leaving it unoccupied for several hours that iTunes has closed with one of those massive error dialogs visible on the screen.

I have pasted the contents of the latest dialog here: http://pastebin.com/LxbnawbR

I am running a 2007 iMac with OS 10.8.3 and every other app on my system is up to date too. I use Home Sharing to a fully updated Apple TV 3rd gen but I mostly use this for Netflix and haven't watched anything off my home library for a while.

Anyone got any thoughts?

I have the same problem, iTunes 11.0.3 crahes every 5 minutes!!!

Yup, me too. I'm betting that Apple is working on this. Someone is looking at the crash logs.

Crashes several times a day for me. Terrible QA control on this product.

Same here ! Crashing every time I look at it! Was thinking it didn't like the look of me but seems I'm not alone.

Very poor indeed....not much in keeping with Apple's old refrain "it just works!"

    This might be helpful: https://discussions.apple.com/message/22070144#22070144

In particular the response from W Rader on 5/20, where he suggests dumping the newest version and going to the previous version of iTunes.

I would go back to 11.0.2....if I could! Unfortunatley (and foolishly I suppose), I haven't used Time Machine or backed up system (files yes but system no), so I don't think I have a previous version to revert to.

Any other advice willingly taken and appreciated!

If you can bear it, do like me and just put up with it until Apple fixes it with another update. We'll see how long my patience lasts.

I guess I have little choice but to wait. Nothing has changed though.....except the frequency of crashes seems to be increasing. They need to get this fixed very quickly!

    Thanks anyway.

Getting the same problem. Find issue is worst when browing by artist. Certain artists crash iTunes every time but you can still listen to the music if you browse another way (by song or by album). Also found iTunes Store to be terrible. Takes ages to load pages, streaming stalls and then reverts to previous song sample that was listened to, and download times painfully slow. Like others looks like I'll just need to wait for next update.

    Same issue here.....

I am running a 2007 iMac (2.8 Extreme, 6GB) with OS 10.6.8 (SL). I've also noticed sluggish behavior in other apps .... come on Apple your crown is slipping

I updated a few days ago and the new itunes must have a major bug because my iMac has never crashed before until this update.  In fact the crash has been so bad Ive had to reinstall the original operating system then snow leopard. Luckily all my photos and music were on a separate drive.  However after reinstalling OSX and then the new itunes it crashed again so badly that I couldnt do anything apart from boot from disk. DO NOT DOWNLOAD ITUNES 11.0.3 its seriously flawed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  And what are Apple doing?

Even time machine doesn't help as I used this but the new version of iTunes keeps coming back. It's like it's got a VIRUS!!!!! I'm now reformatting my hard drive with a 7 pass delete and will download mountain lion but keep iTunes version 10 and not budge til there is a proper explanation from apple!
