Locked out of Ipod Touch

New Ipod touch, whilst setting up yesterday it would not connect to the internet as it was asking for a passowrd. Anyway today it is now locked by my son, and although I have followed all the instructions on how to restore it - it comes up with error 'cannot connect to Itunes' and the session times out as obviously not recognising internet.

I've now exhausted my options...... please help me, as locked ipod and nothing I can do with it.

See:

Can't connect to the iTunes Store

or maybe:

Update Server

Try:

- Powering off and then back on your router.

- iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server

- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers

Public DNS — Google Developers

OpenDNS IP Addresses

- Try on another computer/network

- Wait if it is an Apple problem
