I recently bought additional space and now have 54GB available, it says (which I can't quite understand what with music and backup). But if I buy a fairly big app (don't know how much space it takes, but like birds voices) it says that I don't have enough space. What is wrong or what do I do wrong? I'm fairly new to iPad.

You cannot use iCloud space to suppliment your iPad. It will not work.
iCloud space are mainly for backing up your iPad.
Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Delete what is not needed.
Oops! But then, how does one get space enough for bigger apps?
Get an iPad with higher capacity.
