Why cant I see my music on my ipod?

Reinstalling iTUnes usually doesn't wipe out music, so just so were clear when you open iTUnes, is there any music listed there (Without the iPOd connected)? Or is iTUnes TOTALLY blank?

If iTUnes is TOTALLY blank DO NOT connect the ipod up to your PC, it may wipe your iPOd out

Whats happened then is iTUnes basicly "Copied" its empty library file onto the iPod. When you connect the iPod to iTUnes it copys music over AND the library/database iTUnes has. Id say the music is there, but the iPOd Library hhas no "Link" or "Direction" to ponit to these files so it shows nothing.

The only option you have now is using yamipod http://www.yamipod.com/main/modules/home/ and seeing if it can recover these songs for you off the ipod. Read the "docs" on yamipods home page here to learn how to use it and what feature you need to use to recover off the iPod (Like Find lost music and repair iPOd) http://www.yamipod.com/main/modules/docs/

If it can not recover songs off the iPod, and you have no backups made, your going to be VERY limited in your options. you will have to "Re" import all your CDs. All songs you bought online you will have to email apple and see if they will offer a "Re" download of them. Sorry but it just hit me, you said you reinstalled iTunes so you most likly have your music on the system still.

Its early morning here (East coast USA), and Im so use to answering questions for people who have reinstalled WINDOWS that I kinda go into a "Auto answer mode"

The easy thing to do is first load iTUnes with all your music you have on the PC.

THen do a restore on the iPod, Restore will wipe it clean and correct errors, then use iTunes to load it back up

If you need any help getting iTUnes to load all the songs back into it, Or you would like tiTunes to automaticly search for all your music and videos on the system and load them allinto itunes, Post back and I or someone will show you how to force iTUnes to do it
