My friend's husband passed and we are trying to help her on her mac setup. She needs the network password and we believe the password might be stored on her mac because the computer doesn't ask for a password when she turns it on and the Airport Express internet connection to the computer is live without a password, as well. How can we check for stored passwords on the mac (where are they stored)., please ?

Have a look in Utilities>Keychain Access. You'll need to know the admin password to unlock and view an item in the Keychain.
Just to add, If you don't know the computer's admin password post back if you need instructions on how to reset it.
Yes, we also don't know the admin password, so yes, we do need instructions on how to reset it -- if you have a link, would appreciate. (All this really makes me appreciate the need for leaving full instructions, passwords, etc. for any eventuality for survivors !).
