I used the HP Photosmart Printer/Scanner on my 13" MBP with the extended HP drivers (incl. enhanced Scanning driver/software). After migrating my User Data to the MBA 13" I am not able to get that driver/software from HP because HP references to the Mac Appstore. Any idea?

I see. Unfortunately you are right, there is no additional software for this printer in OS X 10.8. Image Capture and Preview are the built in options. You can try using Vuescan if you would like, but it is not free. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience. 😟

All you should have to do is connect the printer to the Mac, and add the print que to the Mac. When you do that, the software and driver available for the printer will download. If that's not working, let me know what error message you are getting.

Well, actually not. I just don't get the HP Scan-Software. Therefore I must scan with the low-tech built-in tools. These work, but just don't have the tools I was used to.
I don't get any error message. It's just not the HP Scan Software available I was used to before changing to the MB Air (2012 Edition).
