It is actually pretty hard to explain but once in a while when I take my laptop out of sleep mode, following happens (by opening the screen and logging in).. and I am not quite sure why and wether or not there is a way to actually fix this?

Those appear to be the destop pattern (trees) bleeding through the active window. It's not a Video failure, it's a translucency failure.
Oh, and in the first picture, the background application (Minecraft) was already closed but it was still showing up...
