May 20, 2013 4:53 PM in response to Simple Livingby Alley_Cat,I seem to be having this with the password.
It works ok after an app restart but whenever I try to buy anything a few hours later it won't accept the password.

May 21, 2013 5:35 AM in response to Simple Livingby Loren Ryter,I've been having the same problem in the last few days – possibly since upgrading to iTunes 11.0.3.
Interestingly, although it rejects the password endlessly, if you type in an incorrect password it then says "invalid password". So the server is recognizing it as valid but iTunes is requesting it again anyway.
I found that you don't need to relaunch, but you do need to sign out of the store and then sign back in, then it works.

May 21, 2013 6:34 AM in response to Simple Livingby asst.,I am having the same problem after the upgrade. Interestingly, I can download updates with one sign in, but after that, my password is not accepted. I have to quit and start over. Annoying for sure...hope they fix this soon.
Kept me from buying a couple songs I wanted because I got frustrated and just quit. Now I don't remember what they were (impulse purchase!) and haven't bothered to try and go back. The artists should be vocal about this because who knows how many songs are not getting purchased.

May 21, 2013 8:32 AM in response to Simple Livingby ripley_method,I also have this issue. I know that the server is recognizing the password when I enter it for purchases because it will let me go to my account page without another login.
The workaround I found is going to Account, then going into my Apple ID Edit where you would normally change your password. I don't change anything, just select Done (and then Done again to get out of account settings) and then my password is stored and allows purchases for the next 15 minutes or so - whatever the timeout is for the remembered login.
At least this way I can make my purchases...
Still a real pain. Looking for a way to revert back to 11.0.2 until another update fixes the issue.

May 21, 2013 9:09 AM in response to Simple Livingby Jamvan,Reporting the same issue here. Relaunching iTunes seems to resolve it. Running 11.0.3.

May 21, 2013 10:46 AM in response to Simple Livingby Timyre,Sheesh, I am also having this same problem. No matter how many times I try, it will not accept the password. Signing in anywhere else works, such as the web iCloud program, so I know the problem in with the iTunes update and not the account. I've tried emptying the iTunes cache and reinstalling. Has anyone heard of a way to reinstall the previous version, or another solution?

May 21, 2013 11:54 AM in response to Simple Livingby esfrank,Yep, I've got this one too. After an hour on the forums, it appears to be an iTunes 11.0.3 bug. I suspect that the address space randomisation in Mountan Lion is playing havoc with something that iTunes is supposed to remember.
The problem is NOT in iCloud (takes the new password every time), NOT in FaceTime (ditto), NOT in the Apple forums (ditto [whew!]) and NOT in IOS (iPhone/iPad both behave correctly).
If I type in the password as the very first activity before doing anything else with iTunes, it accepts the password. If I do anything else with iTunes before entering the password, my password is toast.

May 22, 2013 4:16 PM in response to Simple Livingby vterm,Same here...
Restarting iTunes works...
Signing out and then back in (without exiting iTunes) also works..
But it is extremelly annoyoing to say the least...
Apple, please fix it.

May 23, 2013 10:19 AM in response to vtermby r_absher,Confirmed, this fixed me. Couldn't agree with the annoyance factor. That said, signing out and back in isn't the WORST work around I've had to deal with. C'mon Apple this is EXTREMELY lame, should have been fixed already.

May 23, 2013 11:27 AM in response to Simple Livingby Teiws,Maybe it's http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3388 and the times when it is not accepting the password is because it's trying to save a cookie and it won't because Safari's told never to allow cookies.
You can try following that article or in Terminal enter:
defaults read com.apple.WebFoundation
If you get:
NSHTTPAcceptCookies = never
... that could totally explain it.
-
May 23, 2013 1:02 PM in response to Teiwsby esfrank,Nope.
Elliotts-iMac:~ elliott$ defaults read com.apple.WebFoundation
{
NSHTTPAcceptCookies = always;
}
It ain't Safari that's got a problem, it's iTunes.
The (long-term) good news is that the bullet-proofing that's being added in 10.9 will probably address this issue. The bad news is that a bunch of us are on a password-of-the-day treadmill until this gets addressed.

May 23, 2013 3:49 PM in response to Simple Livingby JDDarkfire,Just signed out and signed in again, it wanted me to re-verify my payment method. But again, only after the latest update.
