Q: why can't i view my purchased movies on my i touch

I have an ipod touch 2d gen (4.2.1) that won't play movies that are in my itunes account and that i have told it to sync. How do i get it to see and play the movies?

iMovie '11, iOS 4.2, 4.2.1

iTunes: May be unable to transfer videos to iPhone, iPad, or iPod
You may have to redownload the SD version. The 2G can only play/sync SD videos.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
