Error mesage on Mail.

Mail issue:

Why do I keep getting 'The Yahoo! IMAP server “imap.mail.yahoo.com” rejected the password for user “USER@btinternet.com” '. Even when I put in the password, the message just keeps coming back. It's driving me nuts. I do still appear to be able to send and receive mail - but am constantly driven mad by the bouncing mail icon telling me over and over again about the rejected password.

I'm not sure if the issue is linked but there is an equally annoying bounce of a message on ICal. This says the url encountered anHTTP error 404.


Anyone have a fix please?

I have come across this issue myself and know it can be frustrating. The article below may help with the repeated password prompt request on your Mac.

Also, try closing the mail program and opening it again as it could be an issue with attempting to authenticate the account. You may have to delete the account and add it back. Below, I have provided the steps on how to process this.
