VPN connected but no internet access

I bought an application called iVPN to setup a VPN server on my home iMac. The setup went fine, I had some issues in getting the portforwarding to work on my airport extreme.

Soo now I'm travelling and the whole thing is a bit strange. I can connect to my iMac through VPN without ANY issues. It logs me in and I can use screen sharing to access the iMac. Other than that nothing; the rest of my connection drops. Dropbox almost instantly loses the green checkmark. Web and eMail are down.

What I don't know is where my mistake is. Do I need to add extra portforwarding to my airport extreme? I did add the checkmark to route all traffic through the VPN. When I check the internet connection through the screen sharing, there is no problem.

Where am I going wrong?

Below some screen shots of my VPN settings when connected:

the IPV4 address is from the range I picked ( no clue if that is right) and the router is the IP address from the iMac hosting the VPN connection.

My guess is something is wrong with the DNS, not enough ports opened or do I need to setup a proxy?

Thanks for any and all help,

philly

Thanks for the reply. I changed the settings to yours and it still is a no go :-( ! I might try the server edition. Since all I need is the VPN part I thought this would be easier.

I wonder what it could be? I don't think it directly has to do with portforwarding since the VPN service works. I wonder what could be blocking the web traffic. Maybe there is a DNS error?

Hmm, again thanks it was worth a try,

Do you have 'Send all traffic' checked on the client Mac's Network VPN connection setting? I have that checked on my rMBP to send ALL traffic via the VPN connection. I don't know the exact place in the VPN Network setting that is as I'm not on my rMBP at the moment.

EDIT: Just did a Google and it should be after clicking the Advanced button to the right of "Show VPN status in menu bar" in Network.

Sorry for getting back to you a bit later... Yes, I think I might have mentioned it that I do have all traffic routed through the VPN.

Interestingly though my advanced page looks a bit different...

I feel that it must be the traffic not being routed correctly on the imac but I don't know where it's going wrong.

I'll see if we can come up with something or i just might try out the server version and see if that solves my problem.

Philly
