Q: How to copy files from PC to Mac by networking?

I have established a connection between my PC and my MacBookAir and now I want to move files, copy files, transfer files from the PC to the Mac. When the screen is up that shows the files on the PC, the finder screen is not up and the reverse happens. How to proceed?

MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)

are you thinking about transfering files with just a shared folder, or do you just plan on using migration assistent?

migration assistent would be the easiest way to transfer all your data.

Thank you for your suggesiton. When I use migration assistant, I believe that I have to have log out and have a separate ID. I have been working on my computer for a while and don't want to do that. I have now come up with a solution and that is to copy the files I want from the list generated in my network on the PC and this seems to be working. So I am okay.

    Many thanks, though.
