Hi I was just wondering am i able to buy an iphone 5 or iphone 4s unlocked from apple online or in store in America and will it still work if it is brought to Ireland?

My iPhone 4 which was unlocked (I have since sold device) worked perfectly fine in Ireland for voice, but at very slow 3G speeds. This might not be the phone but instead the carrier I was using (o2 i believe).
Hard to imagine there still isn't an Apple Store there yet, with Dublin being a city of over 1 million ppl and the popularity of the phone being as strong as ever.

You can not buy an iPhone from Apple online in the US unless you have a U.S. issued credit card and a US shipping/billing address.
If you want to physically come to the US, you can buy one at any Apple Store.
The warranty will not be valid outside of the US. It will not work with LTE networks outside of the US. If you need out of warranty service, you will not be able to get it outside of the US. You will not be able to ship the phone to Apple in the US for service. You will have to physically carry it back to the US, or you will have to send it to someone you know in the US to take it in for service.
Just have to pop up to Belfast then 😉
