How do you change client name

I know, probably a stupid question. Should be very easy to do... so why have I just spent 25 minutes to find the way to just change the name of a client in the list. Some of these appear on their own by taling the sharing name form the client, but I have one who doesn't, although it's perfectly well connected and I can observe it with my password. But I can't change it's name...

Please help.

Not sure what yopu mean by the Client Name - Do you mean the "Name" col or the "DNS Name" - if the former you go to the System Preferences on the Client and select Sharing and update the "Computer Name" there - if the latter in ARD do a Command+I on the entry, select edit and change it there.

It's the name that appears in the first column. I think I tried it all but nothing seems to do it. I remember having changed this previousely but don't remember how and can't find any explanation anywhere.

Mark,

Ah OK - yes I've seen this - ARD gets that name from the Computer Name when it first adds it - you need to update the name and delete/re add the entry.
