Usb on a MacBook Pro

Hi, I was planning to get a Mac Book Pro 13 Inch Retina Display, and I was wondering, can you plug in a usb cable into it? I heard about the Usb 3 and is that the same as normal Usb Ports? So will i be able to plug in my Usb on my camera? Also what is thunderbolt? Thanks

Of course. USB 3 ports are compatible with USB 2.0 peripherals, so you can use your peripherals. Thunderbolt is a port that allows you to connect external displays and external disks that use this port, getting a faster speed and compatibility for displays with that port
